About GRIPEBOMB

What Is This?

GRIPEBOMB is a personal site dedicated to two of my passions: Japanese professional wrestling (puroresu) and information security. Think of it as "1999 wrestling fan with a T1 line discovers cybersecurity."

This site is built with the aesthetic of the late-90s/early-00s web: simple HTML, CSS, no JavaScript frameworks, no tracking, no algorithms. Just content. The way the internet used to be.

The Wrestling Brain

I discovered puroresu in the late 90s through tape trading and early internet forums. What started as casual interest became a deep appreciation for the storytelling, athleticism, and respect that defines Japanese wrestling.

My focus is on:

  • NOAH - The spiritual successor to 90s All Japan
  • AJPW - King's Road tradition
  • NJPW - When they book things that matter
  • Indies - DDT, Dragon Gate, and the weirder corners

I write character studies, match analysis, and essays about what makes this art form special. No hot takes. No clickbait. Just serious writing about professional wrestling.

The Security Brain

By day, I work in information security - specifically on the blue team side. Incident response, endpoint detection, email security, the unglamorous work of defending networks.

My focus is on:

  • Blue team operations - Detection, response, hunting
  • Microsoft stack - M365, Defender, Azure AD
  • PowerShell - Automation and investigation
  • Homelab - Learning by breaking things safely

I share practical guides, scripts, and lessons learned from real incidents. No vendor pitches. No certification bootcamps. Just things that work.

Origin Story

This site exists because I got tired of the modern internet. Tired of engagement metrics. Tired of content optimized for algorithms instead of humans. Tired of platforms that could disappear tomorrow.

I wanted a corner of the web that's mine. Where I can write at length without worrying about character limits or SEO. Where the design prioritizes readability over ad placement. Where "updated: February 2026" isn't considered ancient history.

The late-90s web was chaotic, ugly, and wonderful. People built sites because they had something to say, not because they had something to sell. GRIPEBOMB is my small contribution to reviving that spirit.
